Ebonyi State is proved to be the 3rd smallest state in term of population, the youngest because it was founded in 1996 in Nigeria and it is having two functioning polytechnics. One of the polytechnics is private's while the other is government owned. Each of the polytechnics is world class and approved by Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and accredited by National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)

This the only private polytechnic in Ebonyi State at the time of writing article. It was established in 2017. It is a specialised polytechnic institution in science and technology.
Government Polytechnic in Ebonyi State
- Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic (Federal Government Owned)
Akanu Ibiam remain the only government owned polytechnic in Ebonyi. It was inherited from the old Abia State having being founded in 1979, ten years prior to the establishment of the recent host state.
