Civil Engineering at Osun State University, UNIOSUN is a five (5) years (Ten Semesters) programme that lead to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Honour on successful completion.
The programme is design to raise engineers capable of meeting ever growing challenges of designing, constructing, maintaining and studying environmental impact of various erected structures in our communities which include but not limited to building, roads, drainages, railways, dams, irrigation system, docks and airports.
Studying Civil Engineering at UNIOSUN eligible students to choose one of the six area of specialization which are: Geotechnical, Construction Engineering, Transport and Highway Engineering, Structural Engineering, Sanitary Engineering and Hydraulic Engineering. Any of the choosing specialisation will easily get graduate students jobs with goverment parastatals, construction companies, consulting firms, research and teaching institutions and transport companies.
Application to study Civil Engineering at UNIOSUN must either be as JAMB's UTME candidates or DIRECT ENTRY candidates.
UTME Candidates
Students must have minimum of credit passes in five O/L subjects from:- WASSCE: West African Senior School Certificate of Examination
- GCE: General Certificate of Education or
- SSCE: Senior Secondary Certificate of Examination
- Physics
- Mathematic
- English Language and
- Chemistry
- Plus one of the following:
- Biology
- Data Processing
- Technical Drawing
- Further Mathematics
- Economics
- Agricultural Science
- Geography
- Metal Work
The student must sit for, pass and make the cut off mark for the UTME.

He must also sit for and pass the Osun State University post UTME making the Cut-Off mark for the Department of Civil Engineering.
Direct Entry Candidates
For a direct entry applicant to be considered for an admission to study Civil Engineering at Osun State University, he must have the following:
GCE A/L: at least passes from two subjects (Physics and Mathematics) to be considered for 200 levels
National Diploma (ND): Upper credit in relevant engineering programmes to be considered for 200 level.
IJMB and JUPEB: minimum required score must be made to be considered for admission to 200 level of the regular programme.
Higher National Diploma (HND): Upper credit in relevant engineering programmes to be considered for 300 level.
UNIOSUN Pre-degree programme is accepted to study Civil Engineering, but minimum entry requirements score must be made to be admitted to 100 level.
All these plus the credit passes in five O/L subjects as listed above.
