Teaching Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Osun State University (UNIOSUN) started in 2007/2008 academic year. It is said that the programme is one of the pioneer engineering programmes at the institution.
Electrical and Electronic Engineering at UNIOSUN is designed to equipped students with the ability to finding solution to myriad of developmental and engineering problems by the application of their knowledge in the field.
At Osun State University, the Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a five (5) years programme which lead to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) on successful completion of the study. The curriculum follows the directives and recommendations as provided by National University Commission (NUC) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). This mean the programme is COREN's accredited.
Application to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering at UNIOSUN must either be as JAMB's UTME candidates or DIRECT ENTRY candidates.
UTME Candidates
Students must have minimum of credit passes in five O/L subjects from:- WASSCE: West African Senior School Certificate of Examination
- GCE: General Certificate of Education or
- SSCE: Senior Secondary Certificate of Examination
- Physics
- Mathematic
- English Language and
- Chemistry
- Plus one of the following:
- Biology
- Data Processing
- Technical Drawing
- Further Mathematics
- Economics
- Agricultural Science
- Geography
- Metal Work
The student must sit for, pass and make the cut off mark for the UTME.

He must also sit for and pass the Osun State University post UTME making the Cut-Off mark for the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Direct Entry Candidates
For a direct entry applicant to be considered for an admission to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Osun State University, he must have the following:
GCE A/L: at least passes from two subjects (Physics and Mathematics) to be considered for 200 levels
National Diploma (ND): Upper credit in relevant engineering programmes to be considered for 200 level.
IJMB and JUPEB: minimum required score must be made to be considered for admission to 200 level of the regular programme.
Higher National Diploma (HND): Upper credit in relevant engineering programmes to be considered for 300 level.
UNIOSUN Pre-degree programme is accepted to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering, but minimum entry requirements score must be made to be admitted to 100 level.
All these plus the credit passes in five O/L subjects as listed above.
