Some information making around the ancient city of Kano stipulated that not fewer than 30 members of the contract lecturers were affected, while the institution authorities insisted that those affected were not more than 10.
It was revealed that about 25% of the 1,776 academic staff of Bayero University have so far held the directive to registered on IPPIS which was not supposed to be so.
Some of the academic staff affected by the development agreed by saying that their termination of appointment by the management of BUK was as a result of their noncompliance to IPPIS.
Professor Mohammad Yahuza Bello, Bayero University, Kano Vice Chancellor, who confirmed the development said it was sad to see such a thing happening but however insisted that those affected were not more than 10.
Professor Bello said provisions were not made for the contract staff on the IPPIS platform, explaining further that the decision became imperative because of the inability of the university to shoulder payment of their salaries saying that the university is no longer able to generate revenue to meet over N18 million monthly salaries of the affected lecturers hence the decision.
