The Department of Agricultural Engineering at LAUTECH was established to train interested students who could combine the knowledge of engineering and basic science to solve problems associated with all Agricultural operations and facilities utilised from planting seed on the farm to the stage packaging the foods.
Therefore the Department of Agricultural Engineering, LAUTECH offer to students the technology and engineering part of agriculture including Agricultural Mechanics, Power and Machinery, Processing, Soil and Water as well as Surveying.
Entry Requirements
Application to study Agricultural Engineering at LAUTECH is done to ways:- As JAMB/UTME Candidates and
- As DIRECT ENTRY Candidates
JAMB/UTME Candidates:
Each JAMB/UTME candidate must possess O'Level credit passes in a minimum of five subjects which must include:
- Mathematics
- English Language
- Physics and
- Chemistry and
- Biology or
- Agricultural Science
- GCE
- SSCE or
- WSSCE
The JAMB/UTME Candidates must also sit for and pass UTME, making the required cut off mark.
The UTME subjects combination are:
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry and
- English Language
After
scaling through the UTME, the candidates must then write LAUTECH Post
UTME making the cut off mark for the Department of Agricultural Engineering.
The JAMB/UTME Candidates are offer admission to 100 level of Agricultural Engineering programme.
Direct Entry Candidates
Application
through direct entry eligible candidates admission to 200 level or 300
level of the LAUTECH Agricultural Engineering programme, the following
qualifications are accepted for admission:
GCE A' Level: three good passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be accepted onto 200 level.
ND
(National Diploma): minimum of Upper Credit in Agricultural Engineering or
other relevant engineering programmes accepted onto 200 level.
National Certificate of Education (NCE) with good grade are also considered for admission to 200 level.
HND
(Higher National Diploma): minimum of Upper Credit in Agricultural Engineering
or other relevant engineering programme accepted onto 300 level.
LAUTECH
pre degree programme is accepted. It is not automatic. A candidate must
make.the required grade to be considered for admission to 100 level. If a
candidate score lesser than 50% in a subject, he must have credit pass
in the subject at secondary school.
Agricultural Engineering at Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso is a
minimum of five years degree programme leading to the award of Bachelor
of Technology (BTech) honour in Agricultural Engineering. The programme is
accredited by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria
(COREN) and National University Commission (NUC)
