Listed on this page are the minimum entry requirements for Ordinary Level (O'level) and Direct Entry applicants to study for Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Honour in Computer Engineering at Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA). Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) establishes Department of Computer Engineering to teach students through intense research, classroom lectures and industrial training to develop in them human capital and to build capacity, the type needed to function effectively in the field of Computer Engineering and that meet the demand of the modern industry and the society.

Studying Computer Engineering at FUTMINNA equipped students with basic skill to writing embedded software, computer networking, developing operating systems, hardware-software integration, circuit design and more.


Admission Requirements

Admission process to study Computer Engineering at Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINNA) is by either:

  • Ordinary Level (O'level) Application or 
  • Direct Entry Application


O'level Application

Secondary School Certificate

To apply to study for BEng  Computer Engineering at Federal University of Technology, Minna using Ordinary Level results, an applicant must have five credit passes in five subjects which must include:

  • Mathematics
  • English Language
  • Chemistry
  • Physics and any one of 
  • Technical Drawing
  • Pure Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Geography
  • Agricultural Science

The five (5) credit passes must be at one sitting from either one of the:

  • West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or
  • Senior School Certificate Examination or
  • General Certificate of Education

FUTMINNA Department of Computer Engineering accept O'level results from two sittings if it is six (6) credit passes or more from one or two of the above examinations:


JAMB's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination

Having met the O'level minimum entry requirements to study Computer Engineering at Federal University of Technology, Minna, an applicant must sit for, pass and make the JAMB/UTME cut off mark.

Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) Post UTME

An applicant who is using O'level results to sought for admission must participate in the FUTMINNA coordinated Post UTME, making the cut off mark for the Department of Computer Engineering.


FUTMINNA Pre Degree Programme

Federal University of Technology, Minna will consider applicant who have participated in the Pre-Degree programme for admission to study Computer Engineering provided the applicant make the required points of mark plus the O'level minimum entry requirements.

Ordinary Level (O'level) and Pre-Degree programme qualified an applicant a placement to 100 level of the programme.


DIRECT Entry Applications

Holder of the following qualifications will be considered for admission to 200 level or 300 level of the Computer Engineering at FUTMINNA.

GCE A/L: Good passes in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry

National Diploma (ND): Upper Credit in Computer Engineering or other relevant engineering programmes from government approved institution.

Higher National Diploma (HND): Upper Credit in Computer Engineering or other relevant engineering programmes qualify an applicant to 300 level of the programme.

Computer Engineering at Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) is a five (5) years programme for those admitted to 100 level leading to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Honour in Computer Engineering on successful completion of the programme. 

The programme is approved by the National University Commission (NUC) and fully accredited by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
