Some universities teach Bioengineering and not Biomedical Engineering. Both are not same though very similar. Don't get yourself confused.

Bioengineering is the application of engineering, chemistry and mathematics principles and practices in general biology or biological sciences while Biomedical Engineering is a narrow version of bioengineering and it has to do with utilizing many of the discipline's principal theories (Engineering and Biology) and putting them to practice to improve health care systems.
