Welding and Fabrication Engineering Entry Requirements Edo State Poly USEN

Edo State Polytechnic, USEN is one of the few polytechnics that teach Welding and Fabrication Engineering Technology in Nigeria. At the time this post was written, there were just four polytechnics offering the programme in the country.  

Welding and Fabrication forms part of seven (7) taught engineering programmes at the School of Engineering and Technology which have been in existence for more than seventeen (17) years. 

The Department of Welding and Fabrication Engineering Technology give more attention to hand-on-work and hence their continuous engaging industries in it teaching and learning activities. 

Listed below are the minimum entry requirements to gain admission to study ND and HND Welding and Fabrication Engineering at the School of Engineering and Technology, Edo State Polytechnic, Usen. This include the WAEC O'level and JAMB subjects combination.


ND Welding and Fabrication Engineering Admission Requirements 

Five O'level credit passes in the following subjects


WAEC O'level Subjects Combination 

  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • English Language 
  • Chemistry  any one science subjects from:
  • Biology/Agricultural Science
  • Technical Drawing
  • Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity
  • Auto Mechanics
  • Metal Work
  • Further Mathematics
  • Geography
  • Economics/Commerce.

*Note: the Edo State Polytechnic make first four (4) subject compulsory.


JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME

An applicant for this programme must sit for UTME and post UTME screening, making the required cut off mark for the Department of Welding and Fabrication Engineering Technology.
