Civil Engineering is one of the three programmes with which the Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos (UNILAG) started teaching engineering courses when it was established in 1964 and since then the Department of Civil Engineering has graduated thousand of engineers who are now in the position of authority in various private and government enterprises.

Credit passes in five relevant subjects at not more than two sittings from one or two of the following O'level examination qualifications.

WAEC Subject Combination
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Department of Civil Engineering accept five credit passes in:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry

An O'level applicant must sit for, pass and make the cut of mark for JAMB coordinated UTME and for the Department of Civil Engineering UNILAGS post UTME screening.
