UNILAG Biomedical Engineering and Entry Requirements

University of Lagos (UNILAG) started teaching for a degree programme in Biomedical Engineering in 2010, equipping students with knowledge in the application of engineering principles to solve problems related to medical sciences.

This programme enhance students ability to initiate, design, develop, repair and operate machines, tools, and equipments use in the delivery of safe medical services.

Entry Requirements Biomedical Engineering UNILAG 

O'level Applicants 

Credit passes in five relevant subjects at not more than two sittings from one or two of the following O'level examination qualifications.

  • WASSCE 
  • NECO SSCE 
  • GCE O'level
  • NABTEB

WAEC Subject Combination 

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Department of Biomedical Engineering accept five credit passes in: 
  • English Language 
  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry 
  • Further Mathematics  or 
  • Technical Drawing 
  • Biology 
  • Geography 
  • Economics 
An O'level applicant must sit for, pass and make the cut of mark for JAMB coordinated UTME and for the Department of Biomedical Engineering UNILAG's post UTME screening.

JAMB Subjects Combination 

  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry and 
  • English Language 

Direct Entry Requirements 

  • GCE A'Level: good passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
  • JUPEB: good passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics 
  • National Diploma (ND): upper credit in relevant engineering disciplines to 200 level 
  • Higher National Diploma (HND): upper credit in relevant engineering disciplines to 300 level.  Or 
  • A'Level Cambridge

Plus: O'level subjects combination.
