Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Calabar offers Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering to produce engineers who are skill on applying engineering, technology and biological science to improve the crop and animal production and for the enhancement  and sustainability of natural environment.


Minimum Entry Requirements. 

The Department of Agric and Bioresources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Calabar accept minimum of credit passes from five subjects which must include: 

  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry  
  • English Language plus 
  • One other science subjects 
The five subjects must not be more than at two sittings from one or two of:

  • WASSCE 
  • NECO/SSCE
  • GCE O'level and 
  • NABTEB

In addition to the above, an O'level applicant must sit for, pass and make the cut off mark for the JAMB coordinated UTME and the Department of Agric and Bioresources Engineering, University of Calabar post-UTME test. 


JAMB Subjects Combination

  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry and 
  • English Language


The subjects combination is valid for the post UTME test.


Direct Entry Minimum Admission Requirements 

The Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering accept the following minimum qualifications from the direct entry applicants to study it degree course.


  • National Diploma (ND): minimum of upper credit
  • JUPEB: good points in Physics Chemistry Mathematics 
  • GCE A/Level: at least three pass grades from Mathematics Physics and Chemistry 
  • Higher National Diploma (HND): minimum of lower credit.  
  • Plus O'level result as stated above. 


Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Agric and Bioresources Engineering is awarded to students at the end of the studies.  The course at the  University of Calabar is duly accredited by COREN and the NUC.
