JICA Chair Landed in Nigeria at The University of Abuja

Today, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in collaboration with University of Abuja, held the first JICA Chair in Nigeria, at the University.

JICA Chair is a programme to support the establishment of a course in Japanese studies at top-class universities in developing countries with the aim of sharing Japan's development experience.

This initiative programme among many other things eligible the University  of Abuja (UNIABUJA) to conduct joint research and activities with notable Japanese universities.  It also eligible it's young reseachers (for academic degrees or on sabbatical) to research and education opportunities in Japan. 

This event also helps to deepen the relationship between Japan and Nigeria. 

In attendance at the event was the Vice-Chancellor of UNIABUJA, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na'Allah, Prof.. Okazaki Tetsuji of the Graduate School of Economics, Faculty of Economics, The University of Tokyo, Japan and some staff of the University of Abuja.
