Not all the universities that claim to offer dentistry as a taught course are genuine. That mean to say not all of them are accredited by the MEDICAL AND DENTAL COUNCIL OF NIGERIA (MDCN).
For any institution to run a medical school and award a qualification in dentistry in Nigeria, such institution must be assessed and accredited by MDCN. An institution without the council accreditation will not have certificate awarded it's graduates recognized for practice or for further study in Nigeria and even in Abroad.
So, for you not to be a victim of a condition whereby you will spend six (6) years training as a Dentist but at the end of the day the certificate earned is now considered to be useless just because your school is not accredited please see the list of all the accredited dental schools in Nigeria as of the March 2022 as published by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
