Binance, the world biggest cryptocurrency exchange and the University of Western Australia (UWA) announced their partnership to advance the blockchain education to tackle the challenges of the skills in the technology.
The partnership is made possible by the Binance Charity, a not-for-profit arm of the Binance Exchange dedicated to promoting blockchain related philanthropy and global sustainable development and it involve the donation of US $300,000.00 to the school.
A publication by the University of Western Australia (UWA) to this development stated that the donation will be accepted in Binance USD, a fiat-backed cryptocurrency stablecoin from Binance, Australia and will be channel toward course already on offer at the institution.
It is believed that the program will create opportunity for the students of the UWA to practically engage in blockchain technologies and thereby acquire skills needed to develop and drive the sector world wide.
While speaking on this partnership, the Dean of the UWA Business School Professor Peter Robertson said,
The University was committed to providing Business education at the forefront of a rapid changing technologies and welcomed the generous donation.
Further, he said,
It is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about crypto currencies and the blockchain using real crypto accounts,” Professor Robertson said.
On his own the Binance Australia’s Chief Executive Officer Leigh Travers said,
While building out a full Master program for blockchain technology a third of the funding was allocated to develop UWA Metaverse labs which will be researched and designed by students.
The sector has witness a huge surge in the demand for skill workforce in blockchain and cryptocurrency over the years and the University of Western Australia parades world leading scholars and resources to address this challenge.
