Earning a degree in Dental Surgery at UG gives a piece of mind, the qualifications earned is recognised at home and abroad because the course is fully accredited by the Medical and Dental Council, Ghana.
A degree in Dental Surgery or Dentistry or Dental Medicine equipped you with knowledge to diagnose and to prescribe treatment for the disease of teeth and gum. All the work of a dentist revolve around the mouth, teeth and the gum. The course is a six (6) years programme, leading to the award of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at UG.
Listed below are the minimum entry requirement, including the cut off point accepted by University of Ghana, Dental School.
The entry requirements listed here are for the WASSSCE and SSSCE results holders.
Entry Requirements, Bachelor of Dental Surgery
Holders of senior high school result must have at least credit in the following subjects:
Core
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Integrated Science
- Social Studies
Electives
- Chemistry and any two of
- Physics
- Biology
- Elective Mathematics
Students with GCE Advance Level
GCE "A" Level in:
- Physics
- Chemistry and
- Biology/Mathematics)
The maximum cut of point required from both the holder of WASSSCE/SSSCE and the GCE A'Level is 10.
