Nigeria Maritime University a Federal Government of Nigeria funded institution was established to train students who desire to pursue a career in the maritime sector of the Nigerian economy and to help in developing wealth creation and employment.
As a result of this, all courses the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) offers are design to revolve around business and activities in the maritime industry.
At the time of this post NMU operates three (3) faculties and teaches 13 academic programmes as listed below.

Note: none of the courses listed above could be said to be art course because all require students to either have credit pass in chemistry and biology or chemistry and physics among the subjects combination at O'Level.
