Study for a degree in Engineering is a bit challenging. It requires students to be good in Mathematics and in Science subjects plus, such students should be highly creative because engineering as a discipline involves in designing and developing machines, structures and processes by the application of Science and Mathematics.

Faculty of Engineering University of Free State 

The University of Free State at the time of this post operates six (6) faculties none of which is a Faculty of Engineering and this mean the institution is not a place to study engineering courses like Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Electronic Engineering and more. It is not in their offering. 


Department of Engineering Science, University of Free State 

UFS operates Department of Engineering Science which only offers Physics as a taught programme so that on graduation students are awarded with a BSc degree majoring in Physics. Students could use this qualifications to pursue an engineering degree (BScEng) or (BEng) at another universities where full engineering degree are offered.
