Promotion of 23 New Professors, 27 Readers Approved By the ABSU Governing Council

The governing council of Abia State University (ABSU) has announced the approval of the promotion of twenty-three (23) readers to the status of professors, twenty-seven (27) senior lecturers to readers.  

A memorandum from the university dated 5th of April 2023 and that was signed by the university registrar cum the secretary to the council Acho Elendu (PhD) stated that: the Governing Council of the Abia State University (ABSU) at it 152nd regular meeting held on the 4th of April 2023 approved the promotion of twenty-three (23) senior academics to the position of Professors and twenty-seven (27) as Readers, for the 2020 and 2021 appraisal years.

This followed positive assessment of their publications by external assessors in their respective areas of specialty and recommendation by the Appointments and Promotions Committee (Academics)

The promotions are in line with the Governing Council and Management determination to promote academic excellence and staff welfare to enhance motivation and productivity.
