Cockrell School of Engineering Partners KBH Energy Centre to Improve Technical Expertise

To further seal it's place as preeminent in studying and applying energy technology, the Kay Baily Hutchison (KBH) Energy Centre is now partnering with University of Texas' Cockrell School of Engineering to improve it technical expertise. 

Kay Bally Hutchison (KBH) Energy Centre is a collaboration between McCombs Business School and Texas Law School. It focus on the energy issues at the intersection of business, law and policy. 

With the addition of Cockrell School of Engineering to the union, KBH Energy Centre will be able to advance it's technical expertise, expand it's curriculum and introduce a variety of programmes for engineering students and industry leaders.  

When at top gear the centre will serve as a hub for students and practitioners in energy sector to work on energy solutions to improve domestic and international economic stability and security.

A publication by the University of Texas, Austin stated that there is no better time to make the partnership happen than now when there is an urgency to address many of the issues facing energy security. 

The publication stated further that the addition of UT’s Cockrell School of Engineering will firmly established KBH Energy Center leader in new approaches and technology to make clean and affordable energy to fuels the economy of the U.S. and it's allies. 

It was revealed that new appointments were made to enhance the success of the partnership in the person of Michael Webber, a professor of mechanical engineering who will serve as the center new engineering academic director and Gene Shepherd, founder and CEO of VTX Energy Partners LLC, who  becomes the center’s new engineering co-chair. He is the centre's executive council and of Cockrell’s Engineering Advisory Board
