The Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu has stated that over one hundred (100) of their brilliant graduates are now pursuing their dreams with scholarships at different university in the United Kingdom. Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke shared this fantastic news during a recent address at the institution Parents Forum (PF) in Enugu.
The Vice Chancellor highlighted the university's commitment to preparing students for scholarships and job interviews through the introduction of a general ability test. He said, the "VC for One Day" initiative of the institution is created to encourage healthy competition and to inspire their students.
Reverend Father Anieke continued by saying despite all the efforts and beneficial programmes put in places, three students faced expulsion for violating the institution's rules, reinforcing our commitment to maintaining a conducive learning environment.
Reverend Father Professor Anieke called for cooperation, emphasizing the forum's role in supporting the university officials to mould the next generation of change-makers.
"Did you know that Godfrey Okoye University is a 100% boarding institution? Exceptions for off-campus living are granted only in special cases after thorough investigations". Sister Prof Marysylvìa Nwachukwu, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, clarified this policy during the Parents Forum.
In a generous gesture, the forum announced the donation of a coaster bus to the school of nursing and highlighted their contributions to the Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital in Enugu.
Vice Chairman of the forum, Dr. Cindy Ezeugwu urged parents to foster open communication with their children, emphasizing the importance of avoiding comparisons.
