Stellenbosch University Announced Winners of Faculty of Engineering Teaching Awards

The Stellenbosch University has announced the winners of the Faculty Engineering Teaching Awards 2023.

D𝗿 Margreth Tadie and Professor Mike Owen were honoured for their  teaching excellence. 

Dr. Margreth Tadie is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Process Engineering Stellenbosch University while Mike Owen is an associate Professor and Division Head: Thermofluids, Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, University of Stellenbosch. 

Kristiaan Schreve a Professor in the Design and Mechatronics Division, Department of Mechanical Engineering is the recipient of  Lecturer of the Year award. He is Stellenbosch University man to the core, having earned all his post secondary school qualifications from the institution and his academic career that span two decades is at the same Stellenbosch University. 

Margreth Tadie  was also the one named as the Upcoming Researcher of the Year. She a Professor in Chemical Engineer. She is an experienced researcher and industrial Chair holder in Geometallurgy. Her research focus on the mining industry, where she examines the chemical behaviour of complex minerals purposely to reducing tailings and also addressing the environmental impact of mining. 

A publication by the management of Stellenbosch University, praised some of the technical and the administrative support staff at the faculty by saying, 

We would  like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the Technical and Administrative Support Staff who have made significant contributions to the efficient and effective functioning of our Faculty. Congratulations to  Alvin Petersen, Bennie Lindoor,  Kavin Neaves, Amanda de Wet, Francis Layman and Marilie Oberholzer for their well-deserved recognition.
