The Work On LUBAN Workshop Completed at UNIABUJA's Faculty of Engineering

LUBAN, UNIABUJA
Yesterday, the University of Abuja signed completion of installation of equipment, worth billions of Naira donated to the institution for the LUBAN workshop in the Faculty of Engineering. 

In 2019, the University of Abuja signed a memorandum of understanding with Tianji City Government as well as two Chinese institutions: Tianjin Sino-German University of Applied Sciences and Tianjin Railway Technical and Vocational College for the construction of a Luban Workshop with the aim to providing technical training to the university students to be able to meet the demand for the job market. 

The facility will offers students courses in rail transit traffic management, electronics, telecommunications and power mechanism. 

The project name: LUBAN, is a combination of two names of a person, Lu Ban an ancient Chinese, master of wood carvers. It is aim to providing specialise technical skills to college students worldwide. 

It is noted that the Luban workshop will be provided at ten (10) places in Africa with University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) the first. It will provide vocational skills training to the youths in Africa for the betterment of their countries under the framework of the Forum On China-Africa Cooperation. 

The UNIABUJA management thereby stated that project has been completed and the equipment is working with satisfactory results.
