Promotions Galore at University of Ibadan

It was promotions Galore this week Tuesday at the prestigious University of Ibadan (U. I). The day, 25th June 2019 would forever be remembered by some of the academic staffs of the institution who got promoted from one position to another.

The promotion announcement which was made by the University of Ibadan Management and was duly signed by the University Vice Chancellor, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka saw 25 academic staffs of the institution got promoted to  two different positions. Fourteen of the staffs were promoted to the position of Professor while the remainder staffs got the position of Readers (Reader is an academic rank below Professor but above Senior Lecturer)

The promotions was as a result of recommendation by the University's Appointments and Promotions Committee and it span virtually all the departments of the institution.

Professors:

4. Dr. Gloria O Adedoja - Science and Technology Education

6. Dr. Aina O Adeogun - Zoology
7. Dr. Temisan A Ige - Science and Technology Education
8. Dr. A O Galore - Petroleum Engineering
9. Dr. D A Fadare - Mechanical Engineering

The University of Ibadan (U.I) hereby congratulates all the promoted staffs.

However, it should be noted that this promotion exercise is the third of it kind this year. There had been two previous promotion exercises in which various academic staffs of the institution were promoted professors and readers. The two previous promotion exercises were carried out March this year.

The first promotion programme was done early March and it includes the promotion of nine senior lecturers into the position of Professors while three lectures were promoted to the position of Readers.

The second promotion exercise was toward the end of March. In this exercise twenty-three lecturer were promoted Professors while thirteen were promoted Readers of the institution.
