Borno State remain the second largest state in Nigeria by land mass but 12th most populated.
The state is not bad in the number of educational institutions it paraded. It has one of the encouraging number of tertiary institutions in the Northern States of Nigeria, but the UNICEF report 2018 said half of the schools in the state were emptied because of the insecurity.
