On Going Work at the Site of The Construction of The New Auditorium. |
The new building project which is called Kessington Adebukola Adebutu Foundation Auditorium is being built in the department of Human Nutrition, University of Ibadan.
The project which is said to worth multi-million naira is meant to be used as lecture auditorium for both undergraduate and postgraduate students of the department. It should be noted that over the years the department has been experiencing lecture space problem, when the auditorium is put to use after completion, the problem would be solved.
In recent years University of Ibadan has been busy with construction of new building projects all over the campus. In 2017, the University Vice Chancellor Professor Abel Idowu laid the foundation for the building of a private hostels for the use of postgraduate students. The building which belong to a private developer with a trade name CMD Angel was conceived to alleviate the accomodation problems that hundred of post graduate students were facing.
Again in 2018 the Vice Chancellor laid a foundation for the building of a new six storey building in Faculty of Art. The building was said it would consist several classrooms, offices and some utility rooms. The building was part of TETFUND assisted projects on UI campus.
The new auditorium project which it's foundation was laid yesterday is being finance by Kessington Adebukola Adebutu Foundation (KAAF) thus it is called by that name.
Kessington Adebukola Adebutu Foundation is the philanthropy project of Kessington Adebukola Adebutu, the Asoju Oba of Lagos and the owner of Premier Lotto better known as Baba Ijebu.
The KAAF was created in 2005 with obligations to sponsor less privilege students to school by awarding scholarship to them, developing community by building church, schools, hospitals, maternity centers and so on.
In the past fourteen year of it's existence, Kesington Adebukola Adebutu Foundation has built several maternity centres which include KAAF Medical Laboratory and Maternity Centre in Lagos.
Among many other projects and donations KAAF has made were building of Remo Methodist High School, Iperu Remo, building of Kesington Adebutu Civic Centre, building of blocks of classrooms at Gaskiya College, Badiya, Lagos; donation of patrol vans to the Nigeria police and the donation of bus to National Association of Polytechnic Students.
The management of University of Ibadan is therefore grateful to Chief (Dr) Kesington Adebutu for his gesture toward the University. The University also appreciate Professor Tola Atinmo, former staff of University of Ibadan for facilitating major donation.
