The school resumed training in Engineering Programmes in 1990 when the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology was established on it campus. They were able to get this done nine years after the institution was founded.
The school was established with aim to "produce graduates with a sound academic background couple with good practical training". MAUTECH engineering training is designed in such a way as to enable the graduates from the school to be self sufficient.
Presently, the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology at Madibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola have five engineering programmes. Each is runs for duration of five years leading to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Engineering.

- Agricultural and Environmental Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering and
- Mechanical Engineering
As at March 2019, only Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering carried full Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) accreditation.
Admission Requirements
For a student to be considered for admission to undergraduate degree of any of the above mentioned engineering programme he must have five credit passes from either- West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
- Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) or
- General Certificate in Education Examination (GCE)
The five credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and either Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Geography or Biology and it must not be at more than two sittings.
A student must also pass Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) after which he must also pass the Madibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) post UTME, making the required Cut-Off Mark for his chosen engineering programme.
Admission are also granted those seeking enrolment for any of the above programmes through direct entry.
