LAUTECH Engineering Courses and Admission Requirements

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso runs seven different engineering programmes. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology where all these programmes are taught was established at the inception of the university in 1990.

LAUTECH is known for performing excellently in teaching, knowledge transfer, research and social responsibility. These virtues are more pronounced at it Faculty of Engineering and Technology where a lot of teaching and research is done thereby imparting knowledge to make future engineers and technologists with a sense of social responsibility toward the development of the community they live in.

Below are listed all the engineering programmes that are available at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso


All the above mentioned courses are five years engineering programmes leading to the award of Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Engineering.

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology at LAUTECH are approved by National University Commission (NUC) and is accredited by Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) . A publication  by same body said as at March 2019, all the engineering programmes at the faculty carried full accreditation.

Admission Requirements

For a student to be considered for admission to undergraduate degree of any of the above mentioned engineering programme he must have five credit passes from either
  • West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
  • Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) or
  • General Certificate in Education Examination (GCE)

The five credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and either Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics or Geography or Biology and it must not be at more than two sittings.

A student must also pass Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) after which he must also pass the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) post UTME, making the required Cut-Off Mark for his chosen engineering programme.

Admission are also granted those seeking enrolment for any of the above programmes through direct entry.
