Engineering forms part of seven faculties which are presently in existence at Rivers State University of Science and Technology.

The faculty was formed primarily to train manpower needed in the technical and engineering areas of ever growing industry -especially petrochemical industry- in the Niger-Delta and in Nigeria as a country. It is one of the pioneer faculties at the institution being a science and technology specialised university.

Faculty of Engineering at Rivers State University of Science and Technology have seven departments and below is the list of programmes they teach:

All the above engineering courses run for a duration of five, four or three years at undergraduate level leading to the award of Bachelor of Technology (BTech) while Masters of Tech (MTech); Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees are awarded at post graduate level.

All the courses at all levels of degree programmea are approved by National University Commission (NUC) and fully accredited by Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria COREN.
