University of Cincinnati Introduces New Program in Sustainable Energy Engineering

The University of Cincinnati have announced the addition of new master engineering degree in sustainable energy.

A publication on the institution websites stated that the program is intended to make future leaders and engineers who are well equipped to tackle myriad of challenges in climate change and in the area of sustainable energy supply worldwide. Many of the challenges being talk about and that are need to be address are: lack of knowledge and awareness, old age infrastructures, government policies, the high initial cost of installation and power storage among many others.

According to the publication the master degree in sustainable engineering is a year program and it will admit first group of students this Fall 2023 semester. It is design to provide students with technical skill needed to contribute to the advancement of the industry thereby partly addressing the problem of lack of knowledge in the field.

The master degree program combine the technical knowledge, policy analysis, and practical applications to make students better understand the technology of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable energy systems, the publication says.

The program features coursework taught across five engineering departments within the College of Engineering and Applied Science and it allow students to focus on a specific area of specialisation like energy sources, energy infrastructure, the built environment, and international energy issues.
