Universities to Study Material and Metallurgical Engineering in Nigeria

Study material and Metallurgical Engineering Nigerian Universities
Selecting proper, reliable, sustainable and cost effective material, if not an important factor to consider when designing, developing or executing an engineering project then it must be one of the important factors.

Material and Metallurgical Engineers study both the chemical and physical properties of materials with aim to improve them, making them sustainable, reliable and cost effective, adapting them to a particular function of an engineering project.

While Material Engineers work on all engineering materials: metallic, ceramics, polymer and composites materials, Metallurgical Engineers work only on metallic materials.

Some universities around the world offer each as a separate programme but here in Nigeria both are done as a single programme leading to the award of either Bachelor of Science (BSc); or Bachelor of Engineering (BEng); or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Material and Metallurgical Engineering.

Below are listed the names of all universities which offer Material and Metallurgical Engineering as a programme in Nigeria.

List of Universities to Study Material and Metallurgical Engineering

  • Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA)
  • Enugu University of Science and Technology, Enugu
  • Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa, Anambra
