Entry Requirements National Diploma (ND) Mechanical Engineering Technology
The Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) requires credit passes in five O'level subjects which must includes
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- English Language and any one other science related subjects from
- Technical Drawing
- Further Mathematics
- Biology
- Agricultural Science or trade subjects which may be
- Auto Mechanic
- Auto Electrical
- Welding and Fabrication
- Metal Work and
- Data Processing
The five credit passes must be at not more than two sittings from one or two of the following examination qualifications:
- West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
- Senior Secondary Certificate Education (SSCE)
- General Certificate of Education (GCE) O'level or
- National Technical Certificate (NTC) or NABTEB in related trade subjects plus Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Language.
Recognised and good pre-ND results in relevant programmes are also accepted for admission.
All applicants must sit for JAMB's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and make the cut of mark for the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH)

Five O'level result as required for ND programme
National Diploma (ND) in the same discipline with minimum of lower credit.
Evidence of one (1) year industrial training programme
The Lagos State Polytechnic may consider those with pass in their ND results for admission but must be with more than one (1) year of post ND industrial training
LASPOTECH also make it mandatory for all applicants to consult the Institution's prospectus on the portal or in hard copy to ascertain their qualification for courses for which they are applying
