Teaching Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Edo State University is in conformity with the National University Commission (NUC) Benchmark for Minimum Academic Standard (BMAS)
The programme is a five (5) years course for those admitted through UTME after which a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical/Electronics Engineering is awarded to successful students.
Listed below are the minimum entry requirements accepted by Edo State University to study for an undergraduate degree programme in it's Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. This include entry requirement for the UTME candidates and direct entry candidates plus the JAMB and O'level subjects combination.
JAMB's UTME Candidates
- Mathematics
- English Language
- Physics
- Chemistry and one of
- Further Mathematics
- Technical Drawing
- Data Processing
- Geography
- Biology
- Agricultural Science
The five subjects which must not be more than at two sittings should be from one or two of the following examinations:
- West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
- Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or
- General Certificate of Education (GCE O'level) or
- National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB)

JAMB Subjects Combination
- Mathematics
- English Language
- Physics and
- Chemistry
Direct Entry Candidates
- General Certificate of Education (GCE A'Level): good pass in at least two subjects, Mathematics and Physics.
- National Diploma (ND): upper credit in relevant engineering programme
- Higher National Diploma (HND): minimum of upper credit in relevant engineering programme
- JUPEB and IJMBE are also accepted provided they are of good grade.
All direct entry applicant must satisfy all O'level entry requirements to be considered for an admission .
Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Edo State University is fully accredited by both the National University Commission (NUC) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
