Kebbi State University Mechanical Engineering and Entry Requirements

Kebbi State University of Science and Technology (KSUST) teaches Mechanical Engineering to raise graduates who are so verse in the art of designing developing, maintaining and repairing any machines.

The programme is duly approved by the National University Commission (NUC) and fully accredited by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)

Students who are admitted to study for an undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering at Kebbi State University of Science and Technology (KSUST) with O'level and JAMB result usually spend a minimum of five (5) years to complete the programme while those admitted by direct entry can use as low as three (3) years to complete the programme depending on the qualifications submitted.

Listed below are the minimum entry requirements to study for the BEng degree in the Department Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Kebbi State University of Science and Technology (KSUST)

JAMB's UTME Candidates

Five O'level credit passes in relevant subjects which must include:
  • Mathematics
  • English Language
  • Physics
  • Chemistry and one of the 
  • Technical Drawing
  • Geography
  • Biology
  • Further Mathematics
  • Building Constructions 
The five credit passes must not be more than at two sittings from one or two of the following examinations:
  • West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
  • Senior School Certificate of Examinations (SSCE)  or 
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE O'level)

JAMB' Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

Students must sit for, pass and make cut off mark for the JAMB coordinated Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Kebbi State University of Science and Technology's coordinated post UTME.

  • Mathematics
  • English Language
  • Physics
  • Chemistry

Direct Entry Candidates

  • General Certificate of Education (GCE A'Level): Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
  • National Diploma (ND): minimum of lower credit
  • Higher National Diploma (HND): minimum of lower credit
  • National Certificate of Education (Technical) 
  • Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE)
Other higher education qualifications could be considered for an admission to study Mechanical Engineering at Kebbi State University of Science and Technology.

All direct entry candidates must have O'level results as stated above.
