Software Engineering is a branch of computer engineering but it focus on the design, testing and implementation of the all the programs and other operating information (software) used by the computer.
Software Engineering is not listed as one of the taught major at University of Cape Town (UCT) either as an undergraduate courses or a postgraduate courses. So, UCT don't grant any award in Software Engineering.
Instead, UCT award degree in computer science and engineering in the following field of specialization.
- BSc Computer Science
- BSc Engineering: Electrical and Computer Engineering
- BSc: Computer Science
- BCom Information Systems and. Computer Science
- BA informatics and Computer Science
