Electrical and Electronics Engineering at MAPOLY is taught at National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) level. The HND programme have two options and they are:
- Electronics and Telecom and
- Power & Machine
Electronics and Telecommunication option teaches and study electronics transmission and communication (analogue and digital), satellite communication, reception of video, voice and data and more.
Power and Machine: this is the field of Electrical Engineering where power generation, transmission and distribution is it's main area of study.
Listed below are the minimum entry requirements to study the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at MAPOLY. The requirements include the WAEC subjects combination and JAMB subjects combination.
National Diploma (ND) Entry Requirements
Credit passes in five (5) subjects obtained at not more than two sittings from one or two of these examinations:
- West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
- Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE)
- General Certificate of Examination (GCE) or
- NABTEB
WAEC O'LEVEL Subjects Combination
The five subjects must include:
- English Language,
- Mathematics
- Physics and
- Chemistry and one of
- Technical Drawing
- Further Mathematics
- Biology/Agric. Science
- Geography
- Electrical Installation and Maintenance work
- Wood Work
- Pipe Fitting
- Building Construction
An applicant must also sit for, pass and make cut off mark for UTME and MAPOLY post-UTME screening exercise for the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
JAMB Subjects Combination
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry and
- English Language
Higher National Diploma (HND) Entry Requirements
Listed below are entry requirements for HND Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- An applicant must satisfy the minimum O'level entry requirements for National Diploma (ND) in Electrical Electronics Engineering.
- Applicant must have at least Lower Credit in the Electrical Engineering or other relevant ND programmes from MAPOLY or other government accredited institutions
- An applicant must have completed the one year post National Diploma relevant work experience an evidence of which will be required or .
- A Pass at ND level could be considered for an admission provided an applicant have evidence of two (2) or more years post qualification industrial working experience.
- An applicant must request his/her former Institution to send transcripts of his/her academic record to the Registrar, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.
Note: MAPOLY make will not register any candidate before receipt of the academic transcript.
National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) Electrical and Electronics Engineering at MAPOLY is accredited in Nigeria by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
