Listed below are the minimum entry requirements accepted by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Ibadan (UI) to it's undergraduate degree programme. This include for the O'level UTME and the direct entry applicants plus the WAEC and JAMB's subjects combination.


ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

O'level UTME Candidates

The University of Ibadan, accept five (5) credit passes from one sitting or six (6) credit passes from two sittings in the following O'level subjects:

WAEC Subjects Combination

  • Mathematics
  • English Language
  • Chemistry
  • Physics and one or two of 
  • Technical Drawing
  • Further Mathematics
  • Geography
  • Economics 
  • Biology
  • Agricultural Science and
  • Metal Work
The pass subjects must be from one or two of the following qualifying examinations.

  • West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
  • Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE O'level) or
  • NABTEB.

JAMB's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

O'level UTME Candidates must sit for, pass and make cut off mark for the JAMB coordinated Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and University of Ibadan (UI) coordinated post-UTME screening.

  • Physics and
  • Chemistry

Direct Entry Candidates

University of Ibadan (UI), Depart of Electrical and Electronics Engineering accept the following higher qualifications for direct entry to 200 level or 300 level of the programme.

  • General Certificate of Education (GCE A'Level): pass in Physics and Mathematics
  • National Diploma (ND): Upper Credit in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or other relevant engineering programmes from government approved polytechnic or other higher institutions of learning.
  • Higher National Diploma (HND): upper credit as in ND. 

The holders of GCE A'Level and ND certificate are admitted to 200 level while holders a of HND are admitted to 300 level.

University of Ibadan usually runs one (1) year pre-degree study which qualify a student to 100 level and that is if passed.

Direct entry candidates must be in possession of O'level results as stated above before being consider for admission.
