Mechanical Engineering form part of the twenty-six courses taught at the former Ogun State Polytechnic and it is runs in the School of Engineering.
Mechanical Engineering at MAPOLY is a two (2) years ND and two (2) years HND programme, in between which is a year break meant for the Student Industrial Work Scheme Experience (SIWES).
Listed below are the entry requirements (including WAEC Subjects and JAMB subjects Combination) to ND and HND full time Mechanical Engineering at MAPOLY.
National Diploma (ND) Entry Requirements
Credit passes in Five (5) subjects obtained at not more than two sittings from one or two of these examinations:
- West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
- Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE)
- General Certificate of Examination (GCE) or
- NABTEB
WAEC O'LEVEL Subjects Combination
The five subjects must include:
- English Language,
- Mathematics
- Physics and
- Chemistry and one of
- Technical Drawing
- Further Mathematics
- Basic Electricity/Electronics,
- Biology/Agric. Science
- Geography
- Electrical Installation and Maintenance Work
- Computer Studies
- Civic Education
- Metal Work
- Auto Mechanic Work
- Auto Electrical Work
An applicant must also sit for, pass and make cut off mark for UTME and MAPOLY post-UTME screening exercise.
JAMB Subjects Combination
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry and
- English Language
Higher National Diploma (HND) Entry Requirements
Mechanical Engineering is not taught on the Higher National Diploma level at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) at the time of putting up this page.
So no entry requirements for now.
National Diploma (ND) Mechanical Engineering at MAPOLY is accredited in Nigeria by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
