This few universities are the ones listed on this page. They are those accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and that are deem to have meet the Educational Requirement for Registration as a Candidate and Professional Chemical Engineering Technician.

- Vaal University of Technology: Diploma, Advance and Post Graduate Diploma (PGD)
- Durban University of Technology: Diploma and National Diploma (ND)
- Cape Peninsula University of Technology: Diploma and Advance Diploma.
- University of South Africa (UNISA): Diploma and Advance Diploma
All Diploma qualifications take up to minimum of three (3) years: two (2) years of attendance at the University together with one (1) semesters of appropriate work integrated learning while the Advance Diploma study take just only a year to be completed, both on full time study mode.
All National Diploma (ND) programmes are in the process of phasing out and so in the next few years no new National Diploma qualification will be awarded.
