School of Engineering Technology form an important part of the eight schools that constitute the Federal Polytechnic, Oko. The school parade six departments of which Mechanical Engineering is one of them, awarding National Diploma (ND) to students on the successful completion of each of the programmes.
Below are listed the minimum entry requirements accepted by the School of Engineering Technology, Federal Polytechnic, Oko to study for ND Mechanical Engineering. This include the WAEC and JAMB's subjects combination.
ND Entry Requirements
WAEC Subjects Combination
Mathematics
English Language
Physics
Chemistry
and any two subjects from:
Biology/Agricultural Science
Technical Drawing
Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity,
Auto Mechanics,
Metal Work,
Further Mathematics
Geography,
Economics/Commerce.
The five credit passes must be from one or two of these following exam qualifications.
- West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE)
- Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)
- General Certificate of Education (GCE O'level) or
- NABTEB
JAMB Subjects Combination
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry/Technical Drawing and
- English Language
HND Mechanical Engineering Entry Requirements
Note: ND.is a two years programme after which a student must participate in the mandatory one year post-ND industrial training.
