Study Mineral and Petroleum Engineering Technology at Edo State Polytechnic walk you through learning process to becoming a qualified technician in the field of mineral mining and extraction and in the field of petroleum exploration and exploitation and more.  The programme forms part of seven (7) taught engineering programmes at the School of Engineering and Technology which have been in existence for more than seventeen (17) years. 

The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Engineering Technology give more attention to hand-on-work and this is one of the reasons why the institution engage industries in it teaching and learning activities. 

Listed below are the minimum entry requirements to gain admission to study ND and HND Mineral and Petroleum Engineering at the School of Engineering and Technology, Edo State Polytechnic, Usen. This include the WAEC O'level and JAMB subjects combination.


ND Mineral and Petroleum Engineering Admission Requirements 

Five O'level credit passes in the following subjects


WAEC O'level Subjects Combination

  • English Language 
  • Chemistry  any one science subjects from:
  • Biology/Agricultural Science
  • Technical Drawing
  • Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity

*Note: the Edo State Polytechnic make first four (4) subject compulsory.


JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME

An applicant for thia programme must sit for UTME and post UTME screening making the required cut off mark for the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Engineering Technology.
