Degree Courses and Entry Requirements | Kaduna Poly

Affiliate Degree Programme at Kaduna Polytechnic is done in conjunction with Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. It is offering several courses but seven (7) in the field of engineering, building and environmental sciences awarding Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) as listed below. 

The Kadpoly Affiliate Degree Programme is design for the direct entry applicants and so the duration of the engineering programmes is six semesters (3) years while environmental and built programmes lasted a duration of four (4) semesters.

Admission Requirements

The entry requirements for a degree programme at Kaduna Polytechnic (Kadpoly) are as follow: 


O'level Qualifications

O'Level passes in five relevant subjects at not more than two sitting 


For Engineering:

Five O'level passes at not more than two sittings from:

  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry 
  • English Language and one of 
  • Technical Drawing 
  • Further Mathematics 

Plus

  • GCE A"level: passes in three subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or
  • IJMB passes in three subjects as above or
  • National Diploma (ND): upper credit in Chemical/Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or other relevant programme or
  • Higher National Diploma (HND): Lower credit in Chemical/Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Engineering or other relevant engineering programmes. 


For Architecture: 

Five O'level passes at not more than two sittings from:

  • Mathematics 
  • Physics 
  • English Language 
  • Chemistry and one of 
  • Technical Drawing 
  • Fine Art 
  • Further Mathematics
  • Geography 
  • Wood Work 
  • Economics 
  • Geography
  • Ceramics 
  • Biology

Plus
  • Three A'Level/IJMB passes to include Mathematics and Physics or 
  • ND: upper credit in Architecture or
  • HND: lower credit in Architecture

For Urban and Regioinal Planning 

Five O'level passes at not more than two sittings from:
  • Mathematics 
  • English Language 
  • Geography plus two of
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry 
  • Fine Art 
  • Economics 
  • Government 
  • Biology 
  • IRS/CRS

Plus

  • A'Level/IJMB: two passes from Economics, Geography/Mathematics 
  • ND: upper credit in Urban Regional Planning or any other environmental sciences 
  • HND: lower credit in Urban Regional Planning or any other environmental sciences
