5 Stanford University Faculty Members Among Sloan Research Fellowship Recipients

Five faculty members of Stanford University were among the list of  118 recipients named for this year (2022) Sloan Research Fellowship.

The fellowship target universities in US and Canada and is aim to promote the work of the early career scholars and researchers whose works are recognised to be highly valuable to health and prosperity of the nation. 

Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the financier of the project says $75,000 is awarded to the winners. The money is expected to be channel toward financing of their research projects in the period of two (2) years. 

The winners of the fellowship represent about fifty universities in US and Canada and Stanford University happened to be among the universities which has highest number of representatives, having five (5) of their faculty members among the winners. 

Recipients of Sloan Research Fellowship 2022 from Stanford University as announced by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation are: 


Daniel N. Congreve 

  • Assistant Professor of  Electrical Engineering

Dorsa Sadigh 

  • Assistant Professor of Computer Science and of Electrical Engineering
  • Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering
  • Stanford University 
  • Research Interests: Robotics, Algorithmic Human Robot Interaction learning and Control Theory, 


Matei Zaharia 

  • Assistant Professor of Computer Science 
  • Department of Computer Science 
  • Stanford University 
  • Research Interests: Computer System, Distributed Systems, Machine Learning and Databases.

Adrien Auciert  

  • Assistant Professor
  • Department of Economics
  • Stanford University 
  • Research Interests: focuses on international economics, macroeconomics and inequality.

Scott W. Linderman  

  • Assistant Professor of Statistics 
  • Department of Statistics, Department of Computer Science and Departments of Electrical Engineering 
  • Stanford University
