Civil Construction Engineering and Entry Requirements | LASUSTECH

Civil Engineering formed the part of the courses with which Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) started it Faculty of Engineering and Technology in 2022.

By teaching Civil and Construction  Engineering LASUSTECH aims to graduate students with skill in the design, construction and management of infrastructures in our society. 

Listed below are the entry requirements for the secondary school leavers (O/level holders) and direct entry applicants (advanced qualifications holders) to study for Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Civil and Construction Engineering at LASUSTECH. This includes the O/Level and JAMB subjects combination. 

Entry Requirements O/Level Applicants 

Five O/level credit passes in the following subjects: 
  • Mathematics 
  • English Language 
  • Chemistry 
  • Physics and one of 
  • Technical Drawing 
  • Applied Mathematics 
  • Economics 
  • Geography  

JAMB UTME 

Students must make cut off mark for JAMB coordinated Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations for the Department of  Civil and Construction Engineering 

JAMB Subjects Combinations 

  • Mathematics 
  • English Language 
  • Physics 
  • Chemistry  

Directs Entry Admission Requirements LASUSTECH 

Plus the minimum five O/level credit passes as stated above, candidates seeking admission by direct entry to study Civil and Construction Engineering at LASUSTECH must have post secondary school qualifications which include but not limited to. 

  • GCE A/Level: God pase in three subjects especially in Physics and Mathematics. 
  • National Diploma (ND): upper credit in relevant engineering courses.
  • NCE Technical: good grades in relevant disciplines. 
  • Higher National Diploma (HND)  lower or upper credit in relevant engineering courses. 
Holders of ND and NCE Technical will always be considered to 200 level of the courses while holders of HND or equipment could be considered to 300 levels

The Civil and Construction Engineering  as a course  at LASUSTECH is accredited by the National University Commission (NUC) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
