The Sokoto State College of Nursing Science at Tambuwal have been approved to have its name change to the Balaraba Buda College of Nursing Sciences, Tambuwal. The announcement to this effect was made by the state Commissioner for Information, Hon. Akobu Dalhatu on Monday.
The decision to have the name of the institution changed was taken at the State Executive Council meeting which was held on May 17 and was duly signed by the outgoing Governor of the State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
The State Executive Council value great men and women who are highly accomplished especially in the advancement of the state and the Nigeria at large and that is why Balaraba Buda and seven others people from the Sokoto State were honoured and immortalized by naming schools after them.
The state government firmly believes that these personalities merit the utmost respect and perpetual remembrance for their contributions to various aspects of humanity.
