NAE Inducted Thirteen New Fellows, Three Others Received Life Achievement Awards

The 2023 annual lecture, award presentation and induction ceremony of the Nigeria Academy of Engineering (NAE) has come and has gone. The ceremony which was held at the University of Lagos witness the attendance of many of the illustrious engineers and government representative from everywhere in Nigeria.  

The award presentation and induction ceremony which was held on the Thursday, 22nd of June at J.F. Ade-Ajayi Auditorium witness three (3) members of the academy receiving Life Achievement Awards while thirteen (13) practicing engineers were inducted as the fellows. 

Those that received the Life Achievement Awards are:

  • Engr Gregory O. Ero
  • Engr. (Mrs) Ebele Okeke, OON, CFR and 
  • Engr. Dr. Joseph Uujamhan


The newly inducted thirteen (13) fellows as published by the academy are: 

  • Engr. Professor Sadiq Zubair Abubakar,
  • Engr. Dr. Michael Adedokun Adegbite, 
  • Engr. Olasupo Ademosu, 
  • Engr. Ahmed Kadi Amshi, 
  • Engr. Professor James Olugbenga Aribisala,
  • Engr. Dr. Raphael Sunday Awoseyin
  • Engr. John Oladipo Ayodele, 
  • Engr. Wopa Kamila Maliki, 
  • Engr. Kenneth Ngozichuckwuka Nwanze, 
  • Engr. Dr Josephat Kanayo Okoye
  • Engr. Victor Olumide Dania, 
  • Engr. Olawale Nelson Ogunshakin and 
  • Engr. Senator Iyiola Omisore, CON.

Senator Iyiola Omisore, a session politician from Osun State represented the other inductees in delivering message of appreciation at the ceremony which Governor Charles  Chuckuma Soludo was the special guest of honour. 

While delivering his message Iyiola Omisore (CON) took time to thank all that were able to graced the occasion, saying that it is an honour well deserved. He said, the inductees will work hard to benefit the society with the  skills and knowledge acquired being fellows of the academy. 

Senator Omisore added by saying they will strive to uphold the system of appointment into office by merit, noted, it was the process that earned them being inducted today, and more so it will help the institution they represent contribute to the growth of the country economy using engineering and technology. 

Other dignitaries at the occasion were, President of the Nigeria Academy of Engineering, Engr. Prof. Azikiwe Onwualu (Chief Host), Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Abdulahi Adamu; Governor of Borno, Engr. Professor Babagana Umara Zulum; Governor of Nasarawa, Engr. Abdulahi Sule; the representative of the Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat among many others.
