Bethel University Get ABET's Accreditation for It's Electrical Engineering

Bethel University, a Christian faith based institution in Minnesota has announced their Electrical Engineering program have just been granted accreditation by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) . 

The accreditation granted the Bethel University is a testament to the quality of Electrical Engineering the institution offers and a sure key to open doors for their students anywhere they go in the world after graduation. 

A statement published by the institution shows that Bethel University was granted the accreditation in August, 2023 and it is valid until 2029.

An ABET accreditation seal on a program eligible the certificate it awards to be accepted everywhere for certification or at graduate schools. It shows the program is being manage in accordance with ABET set rules and standard which include but not limited to:  

  • Faculty students ratio and the quality of the faculty to teach every aspect of a curriculum to achieve students outcome. 
  • Student performance which means how a student is progressing in learning to foster success in attaining student outcomes  
  • Available facilities for teaching and learning and 
  •  many others 
Electrical Engineering major is said to have started at Bethel University in 2017 and it has graduated fourteen (14) students, some of them in 2021 and 2022. As a matter of rules, these students are part of the accredited electrical engineering retroactively. 

It is a believe that achieving new engineering program accreditation is not only beneficial to the program but to the Bethel University as a whole.  It will attract more students, faculty and open door of opportunities to Department of Physics and Engineering.
