University of Ibadan Accept Second Class Lower for Master Degree Programmes

University of Ibadan Master minimum entry requirements
We have on several occasions asked whether University of Ibadan (UI) accept first degree candidates with 2nd Class Lower result to study for a Master Degree programme.

If we may guess, this class of people are curious about the UI accepting such a result knowing the standard with which the school operates.

In actual fact the minimum entry requirement for anybody with a first degree to study for a Master  Programme in the university is 2nd Class Lower. This is not a matter of a Department or Faculty. That is the minimum entry requirements for all Master programmes, irrespective of  Faculty, Department or the Programme.

The 2nd Class Lower result is accepted to study all categories of Masters:  Master of Science (MSc); Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Professional Master degree programme. Even in some.cases, with certain programmes, 3rd Class result is accepted.

If there should be any reasons why 2nd Class Lower result is not accepted for a particular programme in a certain year, then it might mean the programme is highly competitive and there is no chance to accommodate applicants with 2nd Class Lower just because all the slot is filled with applicants with better results and in that situation an applicant will have to wait till following year.
