The Olu of Ilaro who is also the paramount ruler of all Yewaland, Oba Esv (Dr) Kehinde Adeboye Gbadewole Olugbenle, MFR, (Asade Agunloye IV) donated the beautiful edifice to mark his 9th years on the throne.

While commenting on the project, the Kabiesi said he took the initiative to donate the building so as to spur Yewa indigenes towards contributing meaningfully to the development of Yewaland.
He added that in some other climes, it is the indigenes who invested in the development of their sources and thus encouraged all Yewa sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora to heed the clarion call in making Yewaland a beauty to behold.

According to the monarch, gone are the days when indigenes run away from home for fear of being killed by the witches and wizards, stressing that "modern day witches and wizards no dey drink blood again ó, na milo and milk dem dey drink"
Commenting during the commissioning, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Arc. Olusegun Aluko, Ph.D said he was not suprised by the monarch's gestures towards the Polytechnic, because, according to him, the Kabiesi has from the onset taken the Polytechnic as his and has thus been very supportive of the Polytechnic.
The commissioning literarily attracted the creme de la creme of the society to the campus including the state government representatives.
Representative of the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Mfr, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, who is also the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs was full of praises for Ọba Olugbenle stressing the support and appreciation of the state government for the monarch.
The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, NIESV, was adequately represented by both the National and states officers led by their National President, Esv (Sir) Emma Osas Wike.
The Rector, Gateway Polytechnic, *Engr (Dr) Funke Akinkurolere represnted the State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu while the Commissioners for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Toyin Taiwo, Budget and Planning, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos, Prof. Rahman Bello among others were physically present.
The list of traditional rulers, Principal officers, Deans and Directors, Heads of Departments in the Polytechnic and other important dignitaries in attendance is endless to witness the four-parts commissioning of the project handled by Mr Kunle Adebiyi, Director in MTN, representing the Foundation, HRM Oba Yisa Sola Adeniyi Olaniyan, Onipokia.representing the Kabiesis, Esv. Sir Emma Osas Wike, representing NIESV, and *Hon. Afolabi Afuape, representing the State Governor in that order.
