The Department of Agricultural Engineering, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) teaches Agricultural Engineering to train students on the application of science and engineering principles to the design, development and management of  agricultural machinery, tools and equipment and of industries.

By studying this programme you can help in developing the country agricultural sector (crop production, fishing, livestock and forestry) thereby improving food security and making raw materials readily available to the local industries.

Entry Requirements

JAMB UTME Candidates

Entry requirements for the holders of ordinary level (O'level) results.

Credit passes in five subjects which must include:
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • English Language and one of
  • Agricultural Science 
  • Biology 
  • Technical Drawing
  • Further Mathematics
The five credit passes must be at not more than two sitting from one or two of the following qualifications:

  • West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
  • Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE O'level) or
  • NABTEB 

Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

O'level result holders must sit for, pass and make the cut off mark for JAMB coordinated UTME.

JAMB Subjects Combination

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • English Language

Post UTME

Applicant to study for the undergraduate degree Agricultural Engineering with O'level result must also sit for, pass and make the cut off mark for the FUNAAB coordinated post UTME screening.

Pre-Degree Programme.

Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) accept it's organised pre degree results to 100 level of the Agricultural Engineering.

Direct Entry (Holders of the Higher Qualifications)

  • General Certificate of Education Advance Level (GCE A'Level): two passes in Mathematics and Physics.
  • National Diploma (ND): upper credit Agricultural Engineering or other relevant engineering courses.
  • Higher National Diploma (HND): same as above, may be considered to 300 level. 
Agricultural  Engineering at Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) is accredited by the Council of the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)

Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree is awarded students on successful completion of the programme which lasted minimum duration of five (5) years to those admitted to 100 level.
