WAEC Subjects Combination
Five O'level Credit passes which must include:
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry and any two of the following:
- Biology/Agricultural Science
- Technical Drawing
- Basic Electronics/Basic Electricity
- Wood Work
- Metal Work
- Further Mathematics
- Food and Nutrition
- Geography
- A pass in English Language is accepted.
Or otherwise
- At least passes in Chemistry,
- Biology/Agricultural Science/Food
- Nutrition and
- A credit pass in English Language.
The five credit passes must be from not more than two sitting from one or combination of two of the following O'level examination qualifications:
- West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE)
- Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE)
- General Certificate of Education (GCE O'level) or
- NABTEB
JAMB's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination
You must sit for, pass and make the polytechnic cut off mark from JAMB coordinated Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and post UTME screening exercise for the Department of Civil Engineering Technology.

- Chemistry or any one Science subjects and
- English Language
HND Civil Engineering Technology
Study for Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering Technology at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO) eligible students to course options in:
- Structures
- Water Resources
HND Entry Requirements
The entry requirements to study HND Civil Engineering Technology at RUGIPO are:
- National Diploma: Minimum of Lower Credit in Civil Engineering or other related engineering programmes.
- Evidence of mandatory one year post-ND students industrial attachment must be provided.
- A pass in relevant engineering programmes from RUGIPO is accepted but with work experience not lesser than two years.
- O'level results as stated above must be presented.
